Checking the disk.
What is Check Disk?
Use the chkdsk command to start Check Disk.
chkdsk (Check Disk) is a command built in Microsoft's Windows operating system. It checks the integrity of the file system of the storage medium and fixes logical file system errors. When Check Disk is completed, please try cloning again.
1. (Windows Vista or a later OS) Press the Windows key or go to Search and enter "CMD." Then right-click and select "Run as administrator."
1.a. (Windows XP) Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
2. Enter "chkdsk C: /f /r" (C: is the drive with Windows installed)
3. CHKDSK will prompt you with "The type of the file system is NTFS. Cannot lock current drive. Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by process. Would you like to schedule this volume checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)"
4. Type Y and press Enter.
5. CHKDSK will be scheduled for the next system Restart. (If you shut the system down, the CHKDSK will not run on power on and you will have to reschedule the CHKDSK)
