Firmware Update

How do I update the Samsung SSD Firmware?

Samsung occasionally provides new firmware in order to improve SSD performance, compatibility, or user experience. A firmware update is recommended whenever a new one is released.

If you encounter any problems with the Live Firmware Update feature and your SSD is an old model (470 series), you can use a DOS-based firmware update utility via a bootable CD/DVD/USB.

1) Firmware Update using Samsung Magician.
    - If a firmware update is recommended for the selected Samsung SSD, the message, "New Version of Firmware Detected.(Version Number)" appears next to the Update button on the Magician home screen.
- Magician home -> Update
**Note:
A notification is displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen when new firmware is available.

(Caution)
- Before updating the firmware, please back up your data and close all running applications (except Magician).
- Before updating the firmware, please check whether your SSD's firmware is the latest version or not.
- Please do not power off the computer during a firmware update.
- Firmware Update cannot be performed on a RAPID Enabled SSD.
- A PC reboot is required.
